Tip #3 To Feel Happy Today - Raise Your Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is all about knowing and believing in your self-worth. If you think you do not have any self-worth then it is a good idea to start listing all your strengths and abilities as identified in previous tip #2  Be Confident.

Do you ever feel like you're constantly apologizing for existing? Like your accomplishments are flukes and your failures define you?  If so, you might be struggling with low self-esteem. But fear not, friend! Self-esteem isn't some magical gift bestowed upon the chosen few. It's a muscle that can be strengthened with a little effort and self-compassion.

Why is Self-Esteem Important?

Think of self-esteem as your internal cheerleader.  High self-esteem empowers you to take chances, build healthy relationships, and chase your dreams. It's the voice whispering, "You've got this!" when faced with a challenge.

Listing Your Superpowers

You might be surprised to learn that self-esteem doesn't magically appear from reciting affirmations in the mirror (although those can be helpful too!).  A great first step is to identify your strengths and accomplishments.

Grab a pen and paper and write down everything that makes you, well, YOU!  Are you a whiz at baking the perfect pie? Do you have a knack for making people laugh? Did you overcome a major obstacle?  Every talent, big or small, deserves a spot on your list.

Reframing the Negative Chatter

Our inner critic can be a real bully sometimes. It whispers doubts and focuses on our perceived flaws. But here's the secret: you don't have to listen!  When that negative voice starts chiming in, challenge it. Ask yourself: "Would I talk to a friend this way?"  Instead, practice speaking to yourself with kindness and understanding.

Celebrating Small Wins

The road to high self-esteem isn't paved with overnight success stories. It's about celebrating the small victories along the way.  Did you finally conquer that intimidating workout routine? Did you speak up in a meeting even though your voice trembled? Acknowledge your progress, no matter how small it seems.

Remember, self-esteem is a journey, not a destination. There will be good days and bad days.  But with consistent effort and self-compassion, you can cultivate a healthy sense of self-worth and unlock the amazing person you are!

Bonus Tip: Surround yourself with supportive people who uplift and encourage you.

Now get out there and shine!
